Spotlight Moody to bring ‘Peter Pan’ to CEPA Feb. 23-24

Spotlight Announces Cast for Spring Production

In April, CEPA’s Spotlight drama program will premiere the comedy Four Weddings and an Elvis, and Director Lesley Warren said she couldn’t be happier with the cast.

Moody, Pell City drama clubs each receive $500 grants for upcoming plays

This month, the Spotlight St. Clair Drama Education program supported two school clubs with $500 each for their upcoming plays at CEPA.

Spotlight Moody was awarded $500 to assist with production needs for Peter Pan, which will appear on the Center for Education and Performing Arts (CEPA) stage on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24.

“Because of the opportunities provided by Spotlight, Moody High School has seen a significant increase in both participation and excitement within the drama club,” said Jonathan Hood, a Moody High School chemistry teacher and Spotlight club sponsor. “The grant money provided by Spotlight has been very helpful in increasing our capabilities as a club and has allowed us to pay for scripts, royalties, costumes, and sets for our upcoming production of Peter Pan.”

The Pell City High School Drama Club, also a Spotlight member, received funds to support its Spring play at CEPA – Big Fish, scheduled for April 26-29.

“The students and I are so thrilled we’ve become a Spotlight Club” said Ginger McCurry, PCHS drama teacher and Club sponsor. Continue reading
