St. George and the Dragon
Saturday, May 8, 2010 – 2:00 p.m.
This operetta, presented by the Children’s Opera Theater of Jacksonville, is the tale of a town in Lybia that was afflicted by a
cursed dragon. This dragon required a daily sacrifice to prevent destroying the besieged town. At first, the sacrifice of two
sheep was enough, but soon the town ran out of livestock and was forced to surrender a living person to the dragon each
and every day.
When the lot of sacrifice fell to the king's favorite daughter, a cry went up from the city. As the princess left the city to stand
before the dragon's lair, who should appear but Sir George from England.
This exciting operetta, for children of all ages, pits good against evil and will keep you entertained to final scene.
All Tickets are $10
